/ Bearded balm against the antidote of bearded oil – a one-on-one fight for these two unique products.

Black Bearded Balm

In all the years of Tools for Men we are surprised that no article has ever been written that really makes the difference between Bearded Oil andBearded Balm.

You’ve got to be kidding me!

We have written extensive manuals for the production of beard oil, determined the best beard oil (and also beard oil) on the market, analysed 80 different beard oils, but so far we have never made a comparison between beard oil and beard oil… well, to this day.

These two products can be an incredibly powerful weapon in any beard trimmer’s arsenal when it comes to ensuring a healthy and beautiful beard.

Instead of talking about unique features and characteristics, we wanted to do some kind of disassembly.

Like Frazier versus Ali or Little Mac versus Mike Tyson, which one of them will really beat the other in a bloody mash to make it to round 4. Cycle of Rumble in Beardto maintain the crown as the best beard protection product on the market ?

Cycle 1: Beard oil beard balm – conditioning phase

When it comes to conditioning her beard, on paper, she looks like both.

In fact, if you look at almost any high quality beard oil, you will notice a number of ingredients, including

  • Carrying oil
  • ethereal oils
  • Vitamin E oil (sometimes)

It’s a unique blend of ingredients that makes Bart’s oil effective.

On the contrary, if you look at the beard balm, you will find the following ingredients on the packaging:

  • Carrying oil
  • ethereal oils
  • Butter (ski/cocoa)
  • Beeswax

If you’re not sure of the ingredients, please let us know:

Carrier oil

Bearing oil is a heavyweight in the world of beard conditioning.  Usually in the form of jojoba, argan, grape seeds, sweet almonds or many other types, this ingredient is the basis of its moisturizing and nourishing properties.

Without the use of carrier oil you would have a noticeable amount of flaky beard, which would be incredibly ugly.  In addition, wearing oils helps keep your beard fresh – which, of course, is the key to incredible all-day comfort.

But beyond the properties of the skin, the carrier oils have gone one step further.  They also play an important role in softening the beard.  So it’s a little fragile, the oil carrier makes your beard smooth.  Secondly, an additional advantage of a smooth beard is that it is less prone to splitting.

Base oils

In addition to carrier oils, you will also find beard oil and beard oil with essential oils.  This ingredient is what really sets these beard care products apart from your usual beard care cream or balm.

Essential oils are injected into the product with incredible fragrances that can evoke the scent of this woody men’s fragrance, so often desired by many men to be a little more festive, with notes of nutmeg, vanilla and cinnamon.

Essential oils are excellent for delivering wild, non-sharp aromas.  In general, after applying a balm or oil, you will notice that the scent fades after a few hours.

Oh, and essential oils can also offer some fairly important side benefits, such as a natural anti-fungal agent on its way to increased blood circulation in the skin (helps the beard grow).

Butter

This is where the Balm of Beard begins to play a leading role.  Unlike bearded oil, balms also contain shea or cocoa butter as moisturisers.

Oils, the main ingredient of natural skincare products for men and women, provide your skin with extra moisture.  So, if you have a pronounced amount of beard flakes or just find that your skin dries out fairly quickly, the oil is a lethal secondary layer that works well with the carrier oil.

Beeswax

Beeswax is visibly low in beard oil and is ideal for light beard styling.  The volume is quite low with beard balm, which is available on the market, but it can help to keep a few hairy whiskers under control throughout the day.

Secondly, beeswax acts as an effective means of protecting the skin.  So, if you live in a dry climate, it can help to nourish your skin and beard all day long.

Right card

In terms of packaging, it is generally thought that Bart’s balm was much more effective than Bart’s oil.  The addition of the secondary ingredients butter and beeswax penetrates the skin and creates a protective barrier for your beard.

The winner is: Bearded balm

Cycle 2: Oil Billiard Balm – Style Capability

And this is Frazier!

But then he doesn’t smoke Joe Frasier instead of Bart’s Oil!

To be as friendly as possible, you should pop your beard on your buttocks when you do your hair.  Because the bottle contains no binder or preservative, it has little influence on the shape of the beard.

So if you get such a perfect beard after a visit to the hairdresser, the beard butter just won’t cut it.

Don’t forget that from the first round, the oil for your beard is just a mixture of oils. So, if you apply it regularly, your beard is less likely to retain its shape.

As mentioned in the first round, beard balm also contains beeswax.  Although the concentration is not the highest, especially when compared to mustache wax, it allows you to easily fix your famous follicles.

When you walk out the door, the beard balm can help your beard maintain its shape for at least a few hours.

Right card

If it was a real fight, there’s no doubt Bart’s oil was thrown in that round.  If it was the UFC, the fight would be over by now!  But unfortunately there is still a lot of conflict between these two products – let’s wait and see what the next round brings.

The winner is: Bearded balm

Cycle 3: Beard oil removal balm – Portable

Whether you’re flying around the country or spending a weekend away, you can easily store the balm and beard butter in your favourite double set.

Both products are usually stored in 1 or 2 ounce containers, making them absolutely ideal for transport.

But when it comes to sustainability, Bart Balm is just as strong as he was in his conquest to bring down Bart Oil.

Almost every Bart oil is made from a brown glass bottle.  Good for storage, because it naturally prevents UV rays from destroying the integrity of the ingredients, because they are made of glass and are therefore prone to breakage.

Therefore, when handling a bottle of beard oil in the bathroom, be careful not to drop it.

If you let your favourite bottle of beard oil slip out of your hands, the beard oil may roll off the top of the bottle or break the glasses on the bathroom floor.

Contrary to beard oil, balm is slightly smarter designed.  The beard balm, enclosed in a metal box (often a screw box), moves incredibly well.

You can easily store your favourite tin in your back pocket or backpack so you can use it accidentally.

Right card

We’re starting to think Bart Oil is the next Glass Jaw Joe.  Simply because the beard balm has easily added beard oil in this cycle.  I mean, come on, a metal box will undoubtedly be much stronger than a glass box!

The winner is: Bearded balm

Cycle 4: Bearded oil balm – Type

So, what does your sweet beard look like?

A few weeks of growth?  Or do you wear a whole farm (beard for a year)?

Depending on the length, the balm or oil can be very effective.

In general, for men who have a slightly shorter beard (~ less than 6 months of growth), beard oil may be the best of both options.

The reason for this is that you probably don’t have many hairy moustaches that interfere with your daily activities.

One of the main disadvantages of growing a long beard, for example, is that the whiskers start to come into the mouth during meals.

On the contrary, during the beard growth phase, you want to concentrate on caring for and maintaining the health of your skin and hair follicles thanks to the high concentration of carrier oil in your beard oil (remember that these will always remain the ends of your hair follicles, so you don’t want them to fray).

As you may have guessed, if your beard gets longer and messier, a beard balm can help you control your moustache and feel better.

Right card

It’s a flip!  Depending on where you are on the growth path of your beard, one or the other product may be suitable.  Even with a longer beard, you can still wear beard oil – but don’t count on beeswax.

The winner is: Separate solution

Cycle 4: Anti-Beard Balm – Marketing Stability

Let’s go to the world’s largest online store and see the numbers:

A simple search on Bartöl yielded 2212 results:

On the contrary, Bart Balm’s research has yielded respectable results 914 :

Of course, not all products are likely to be beard oil or balm, but we think it is a good indicator of the size of the market due to the number of product positions.

And for good reason…

Bart’s oil is incredibly cheap.  If you sell Bart’s oil for $20, it actually costs less than $5 per bottle, which gives you a profit of $15 (75%).

No wonder Bart’s oil companies spin this thing with their fists – even if it’s not as round as Bart’s balm.

The use of balm with beard takes into account more ingredients (i.e. higher production costs) and the heating and curing of the product in the boxes (i.e. labour costs).

The production of beard oil is a simple mixture of carrier oils and essential oils in a bottle and the name of the day.

Of course there is an artisanal process for the production of bearded oil, but it is no different than the process through which the balm passes.

Right card

Given the high profitability combined with lower production costs, it is not surprising that beard care companies promote this product much more than balm.  After all, who wouldn’t mind making a few extra dollars?

The winner is: Butter with beard

Evaluation

While presenting the above results of an objective analysis, Bart’s Balm simply beats Bart’s oil with one hand. From the profile of the ingredients to the ease of wearing, beard balm is generally an incredibly effective product to take your beard game to the next level.

It’s not a question of knocking on the door because of all the great work that the oil companies specialising in beard oil do every day. Beard oil is an excellent product that will help your beard enormously.

However, it seems that Bart Balm just doesn’t get the love he deserves, even though he is objectively the best product on paper.

If you don’t condition your beard at all – beard balm or beard oil – will still do an incredible job to take your beard to the next level of.
